Supporting the scientific standing of pharmacists, as well as the sustainability of Greek pharmacies over the years, ELPEN sponsored the 15th PHARMApoint conference. The event was organized by the Pharmaceutical Association of Thessaloniki, under the auspices of the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association, and took place in Thessaloniki, on the 17th and 18th of October, 2015.

During an event that was organized for this purpose, current issues pertaining to our country's pharmaceutical policy were discussed, and matters related to the company's 50‐year anniversary were presented, both by ELPEN's executives and by Mr. Theodore Tryfon, Vice President of ELPEN's Board of Directors and President of PEF.

In its 50 years of operation, ELPEN has sought to develop strong bonds with Greek pharmacies based on a mutual cooperation and trust, thus acknowledging their significant contribution in providing high-standard scientific services to Greek patients. Following relevant meetings that were successfully carried out in Athens and Thessaloniki, with the participation of more than 1,000 pharmacists in total, ELPEN organized an information event at Chania, Crete, on Wednesday, October 22, 2014.

The Presidency of the Panhellenic Union of Pharmaceutical Industries (PEF) was won in the recent elections, by the union's former Vice President, Mr. Theodore Tryfon. At a time when supporting the Greek pharmaceutical industry has become increasingly imperative, emphasis placed on manufacturing, extroversion, as well as innovation, comprise the axes which will allow for the Healthcare sector to reach great heights. The Greek pharmaceutical industry has in fact been recognized as a critical driving force which will significantly contribute to the restructuring of the actual economy, and stimulate entrepreneurship.

In this context, the company has expressed its unreserved support, by means of networking events with Greek pharmacists. After having successfully organized such events in Athens with more than 700 participant pharmacists, ELPEN also held an awareness event in Thessaloniki, on Monday, September 15, 2014.

On June 23, 2014 ELPEN was awarded for the second time since 2005 with the "Research & Technological Development" award, by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI). This specific award comprises the third distinction within a month for ELPEN. It follows the award given to the company on May 22nd with the award regarding "Employment Growth", which award is given in the context ofthe Business Excellence Awards for "The Most Admired Enterprises". On June 13th, the Chairman, CEO of ELPEN, Mr. Dimitrios Pentafragas, was presented with the award by the Greek Society of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology, at the Research Center of the Athens Academy.

An important and moving awards ceremony took place at the Athens Academy Research Center, where the Founder and Chairman of ELPEN Pharmaceutical Co. Inc. was awarded by the Greek Association of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology. The award honored Mr. D. Pentafragas's substantial contribution and long-standing commitment to clinical research aswell as his pioneering support and encouragement to researchers, nationally and internationally, by establishing the ELPEN Experimental and Research Center which focuses on scientific research and innovation in the pharmaceutical field.
