Within the context of the “MAST Movement for Breast Cancer” program, the Mobile Mammography Unit (MMU) of the Hellenic Cancer Society (HCS) visited the city of Thessaloniki for 5 days, from the 22nd until the 26th of May. Two hundred and fifty women had the opportunity to undergo free mammography screening. From the 22nd until the 24th of May, the MMU performed mammograms at Aristotelous Square, while on the 25th & 26th, the Unit settled at the Minor Asia & Thracean Culture Square.

This year, for the 17th time, ELPEN has discretely responded to the Aegean Team’s calling: during the 23rd Crossing of the Aegean Sea, which lasted from the 11th until the 22nd of May, ELPEN covered –in full– the cost of 485 lab tests.

Free mammography screening was offered to 100 women from vulnerable social groups. Early diagnosis can lead to cure, since breast cancer is treatable during its initial stages. The HCS recommends that all women over the age of 40 have a preventive mammography screening every 2 years

On April 29th and 30th, ELPEN, the pioneer Greek pharmaceutical industry, together with the Non Profit Organization «Siblefsi», visited the community of Iraklia, where they offered essential medical and logistical equipment for the local medical cabinet and school. With this action, ELPEN covered shortages and current needs for the life improvement of the island’s inhabitants.

On November 10th and 11th, 2016, the Mobile Mammography Unit (MMU) of the Hellenic Cancer Society (HCS) visited the Municipality of Piraeus, offering free mammography screening to more than 70 women from vulnerable population groups (unemployed & uninsured). This particular activity runs within the context of the “MAST movement for Breast Cancer!” campaign, which is realized with the support of ELPEN and the organizing contribution of KEDE and EDDYPPY.

From September 29th until October 2nd, 2016, the Mobile Mammography Unit (MMU) of the Hellenic Cancer Society (HCS) visited Georgiou Square, in the city of Patras, where free mammograms were offered to more than 200 women, who belong to vulnerable population groups (unemployed & uninsured). This particular activity runs within the context of the "MAST movement for Breast Cancer!" campaign, which is realized with the kind support of ELPEN Pharmaceutical Industry.

On the occastion of the World Alzheimer’s Day, ELPEN supported the conduct of a Press Conference, which was held by the Athens Association of Alzheimer’s Disease & Related Disorders, and the Panhellenic Federation of Alzheimer’s Disease & Related Disorders, on Wednesday, September 21st.

The “MAST movement”, a journey of life by the Hellenic Cancer Society, was successfully continued in the city of Alexandroupolis. This is a large campaign for prevention and information about breast cancer, in the peripheral regions of Greece, whose aim is for every woman, in every corner of the country, to be informed, to prevent and to be cured from breast cancer.

ELPEN, the pioneer Greek pharmaceutical industry, supports once again the Aegean Team's work, and stands close to the residents of small and remote islands, aiming at offering them access to necessary medical services that improve their health. For the 16th year, ELPEN travelled with the Aegean Team, during the 22nd Crossing, and took charge of covering the needs in medical machinery and consumables for the rural clinics in Koufonissi and Irakleia.

On Monday, May 30th, Mission «Diabetes» visited the 1st Primary School of Pikermi, in Attika. Mr. Thodoris Papaloukas, international basketball player, led the Mission. Mr. Papaloukas met students from the 5th and 6th Primary Grades, supporting, pro bono, the need to inform children about the importance of exercise and healthy nutrition for the prevention of Diabetes.

The "MAST movement… for Breast Cancer!", a campaign for prevention and information, has begun its journey, with the city of Larissa being its first stop. The purpose of this journey is for every woman, in every corner of Greece, to be informed, to prevent and to be cured from breast cancer.

On Tuesday, May 24th, Mission «Diabetes» visited the city of Thessaloniki. Mr. Alexandros Nikolaidis, Tae Kwon Do Olympic medalist, led the Mission. Mr. Nikolaidis visited the 2nd Primary School of Triandria, supporting the need to inform children about the importance of exercise and healthy nutrition for the prevention of Diabetes.

Under the auspices of KEDE (Central Union of Hellenic Municipalities), the support of EDDYPPY (National Intermunicipal Network Healthy Cities-Health Promotion), and the generous sponsorship of ELPEN, the Hellenic Cancer Society (HCS) launches, in May, a valuable journey of information and prevention about Breast cancer, the so called "Mast" Movement. The four collaborating bodies share a common vision: access for everyone to health services that improve their life quality.

On behalf of PAE Kalloni, football players Mr. Nikos Mallis and Mr. George Xydas visited the Primary School of Kalloni, helping disseminate a message about the need for systematic exercise and balanced nutrition. Through a specifically designed educational game, entitled «Discovering the treasures of good health. Exercise and healthy nutrition», students discovered the treasures of good health.

On Thursday, December 17th, 2015, led by Mr. Andreas Zissimos, one of the top Greek swimmers, «Mission: Diabetes» visited the Primary School of Fourfouras, a mountain village in Rethymno, Crete.  

Aiming at spreading the message about the importance of exercise and good nutrition for the prevention of Diabetes, 10 distinguished Greek athletes visit, pro bono, 10 Primary schools in 10 areas across the country, as members of the "Diabetes" Mission.
