Developing innovative therapies is a strategic goal for ELPEN. This is why we place great importance to the Research & Development function among all our operations, and invest more than 8% of our annual turnover in research projects.
ELPEN fosters research on:
- Developing new generic medicinal products
- Implementing research projects of great scientific interest to both the company and the community
- Composing new molecules and developing preclinical and clinical programs with published results
Depending on the different stages of the research process, these research activities are carried out by several departments, including:
- Department of Analytical Methodology Development: the department develops and approves analytical techniques and conducts all necessary controls on development batches, including stability and in vitro assays. Subsequently, a dossier is prepared and submitted to the national and EU organizations for medicines.
- Formulation Department: the department develops and improves upon new methods of administering active substances.
- Experimental Research & Training Center: the Center conducts in vivo experiments and translational research while fostering lifelong medical and other scientific education and training.
- Clinical Studies Department: the department designs and implements clinical study programs for ELPEN pharmaceuticals and the Elpenhaler® inhaler.
