During the award ceremony for eminent individuals originating from the island of Lesvos, which was held at the two-day Aegean Pharmacists’ Conference, Mr. Theodore Tryfon, Vice President of ELPEN & President of PEF, received an honorary award for his social contribution.

The conference was organized by the Pharmaceutical Association of Lesvos, in collaboration with the Pharmaceutical Associations of Chios, Samos and the Cyclades, and took place in Mytilini, on the 27th and 28th of May, 2017. Several distinguished health scientists, as well as numerous other conventioneers, attended the event as speakers. ELPEN was the major sponsor of the conference, thereby confirming, once again, that the pioneer Greek pharmaceutical industry is dynamically present at all events that support contemporary Greek pharmacies and their sustainability, across the country.

The discussion that took place during a round table entitled «Sustainability and perspectives for the pharmaceutical chain. The State’s role» was of particular interest. Mr. Apostolos Valtas, Vice President A’ of PFS & President of the Pharmaceutical Association of Lesvos, coordinated the round table, while Mr. Efstratios Zafiris, Secretary General of Industry, Mr. Sotirios Berssimis, President of EOPYY, Mr. Konstantinos Panagoulias, Vice President of SFEE, Mr. Vassilios Seretis, President of EFEX, Mr. Polychronis Simeonidis, President of Pieria’s SYFA, and Mr. Theodore Tryfon, President of PEF & Vice President of ELPEN, participated in the discussion.

Upon receiving an honorary award, Mr. Tryfon noted in his statement: “As a business, what we contribute and return to society is something that should, first and foremost, be done and not said. I accept this particular award, since I believe that, amidst this economical crisis, the imprint left upon societies by Greek, powerful industries, which continue to do business in Greece, is very important. We exist, and we must continue existing as a beacon of hope for our country. On a personal level, I feel proud to be representing dynamic Greek industries; I am not only referring to ELPEN, but also to many other iconic businesses, which honor this organization with their presence. With a small market share, we have managed to keep our employees, invest and maintain our production base in Greece. Undoubtedly, this is something that should be highlighted today, because businesses do not only constitute a component of our economy, but also a fundamental pillar of the entire society. Within this context, we hold a responsibility: to support and produce domestic added value and benefit.”

Within the Conference’s framework, ELPEN participated in the exhibition with three ALMORA plus products, namely Gantil, Lumaren and Rontamil. The company also presented its new artia by ELPEN line products for the relief of human skin irritation and actinic dermatitis symptoms. These natural products have been designed upon specialized scientific research that was conducted by ELPEN, in order to efficiently prevent and treat reversible skin lesions, such as dryness, erythema, pruritus, burning sensation, exfoliation and mild burns caused by skin exposure to radiation.
