This year, for the 17th time, ELPEN has discretely responded to the Aegean Team’s calling: during the 23rd Crossing of the Aegean Sea, which lasted from the 11th until the 22nd of May, ELPEN covered –in full– the cost of 485 lab tests.

These examinations were offered for free to the residents of 7 small, remote Greek islands, namely, Thymena, Fourni, Donoussa, Amorgos, Astipalea, Ios, and Koufonissi. A group consisting of twenty one specialized physicians, who were accompanied by nurses and lab technicians, visited the above-mentioned islands during the 23rd Aegean Sea Crossing, which was completed in Koufonissi, on May 22nd, 2017.

Any activity that offers hope to the Greek population is necessary. Within this context, ELPEN is leaving its trace, by engaging in essential, creative projects for remote areas of the country and sponsoring activities such as: creating a playground in Anafi, funding the installment of a water reverse osmosis filter in Thymena, providing a water supply system for Keramidous, offering equipment for the medical cabinet in Koufonissi and Iraklia, and providing educational, teaching and recreational material for the schools in small, remote islands of the Aegean Sea.
